Hello, I'm opening my Macbook Air now. However, I'll be leaving USA in a couple days. What should I check after I open the box at a glance? Thanks.

Look for signs of damage that may have occurred in shipment. Other than that, just turn it on and use it.

I would test out all the ports, the camera, the built in mic, etc. Do it again after a reboot.

Also, examine the display under a light to make sure there aren't scratches or spots. Test it with the thing on as well to make sure there are no [unacceptable] dead pixels or weird uneven spots. There are programs or websites to help you do this.

If everything seems to work fine you are probably good to go.
