Opening Pages gives me the sidebar and format frame

Good day. Since upgrading to pages 10.0, when I create a new document, I always get the page thumbnail sidebars and the format text frame.

It didn't use to be this way, all it opened was a blank text screen. (I have a template.)

Any way of getting back to this, or did the developers decide that I have to use more keystrokes just because?

Had a look at mine ver 10.0 and just click 'View'top left of your document for Page Thumbnails.... if I understand this is what you want to see!

Yes. I get that as well. Can't see how to stop it for new documents.
