macOS Opening Project Builder File in Xcode

Hello.
I recently downloaded the Monochrome sample project from Apple's developer website. When I opened the folder I found it included a PB File rather than an xcode file. I renamed the PB folder to .xcode and then upgraded it to a .xcodeproj. When I tried to run the program I got an error saying Jam has been depreciated and removed. I have 2 questions.
1. What is Jam?
2. How do I fix this?

If this is Perforce Jam, then it's an open-source build system. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perforce_Jam

You might need to upgrade the targets. Project > Upgrade All Targets in Project to Native
