Opening shared folders at startup

I set folders from a Windows machine as Startup items, but everytime I login to OSX, those shared folders popup first and I have to close them. Is there a way for them to silently show up on the desktop without bothering me?

Rather than having them as StartupItems, could you add them to your Login Items and click the checkbox next to them? The checkbox should ensure they mount but remain hidden. 🙂

I tried that already, but when I check those boxes, the network drive doesn't mount on the desktop.
