I have a simple request: When one clicks/taps on the Comments button, please make the page open to the comments instead of forcing the reader to scroll all the way through the article again (which they may have just finished reading from top to bottom). Particularly on my phone I always have to swipe, swipe, swipe through the entire article again, which seems really pointless. I've already read the article; now let me see the comments when I ask to open them.

I'm not familiar with the inner workings of Xenforo, but I suspect that this request is a little tricker than it appears on the surface. Effectively you're asking for the Comments link to go to comment #2 (since #1 is the article). A potential issue is that comment #2 doesn't exist at the moment the article is published, and therefore it doesn't have a link.

Now, let's see what the Xenforo experts say :)

It’s possible that there is even more yet to the issue. The front page runs on WordPress and if I recall correctly they had to do some sorcery to link WP and XF together when publishing articles on both platforms and make it appear seamless.

I'd prefer it stay as is, or is a toggle.

I rarely just read the article, I read the article and the comments both, so when I read the first bit if I want to continue I click the comments button to read the rest of the article and then the comments, point being they are both open.

I get what you’re saying, but to me clicking on the comments to open the article actually demonstrates how counterintuitive the present format is. I hope it can be fixed to be more logical.

Agree with you @2024
Clicking comments should take one to the comments, 100%

(if possible within the limitations of the backend software, of course)

Any chance this might still happen? just wondering...
