Down the road, I'm sure dust accumulates inside the air vents and fans. Does anyone advise opening up the MBP to clean it? If so, Where can i purchase a good tool kit for the rMBP?

I say proceed at your own risk, especially if still under warranty. Ifixit sells a good set:

If all you are doing is pulling the bottom of the case off, just be careful to not strip out or over tighten the screws. I also lay out a sheet of paper with pen marks on it for screw assignments incase they are different lengths. And finally, use a tiny bit of Loctite blue on the threads when putting it back together.
