@tateu: Can I add your recompiled version of OpenNotifier to my repo for easier installation?

I actually just finished setting up my own repo, literally 2 seconds before I received an email from MacRumors telling me about your new post.

http://www.tateu.net/repo/

One thing I did for my repo, is recompile OpenNotifier to change all of the bundle names from "com.n00neimp0rtant.opennotifier" to "net.tateu.opennotifier" and change the name of the package from "OpenNotifier" to "OpenNotifier - tateu." I thought that this would help make it clear that this is an unofficial package and not associated with the original developer.

What do you or anyone else think about those changes?

Once I nail down how to handle this, sure, go ahead and add it to your repo, too.

Hi Tateu. Is this version different from the second version you had uploaded to main post a few days ago? Or was the name simply changed?

Good for you for doing this. You've made a lot of people happy. Too bad dev hasn't updated this. I don't know what I would have done had you not done this :)

Any trick to getting the user agent faker app to work on your repo? Chrome still loads everything in mobile view :)

Thanks!

Thanks so much Tateu, I've just downloaded it from you repo and it works like a charm! Would there be any chance of the icons staying in the status hud when using other apps like Safari? The icons seem to disappear for me. Thanks for all the hard work :D

A little off topic but if you open my repo again and look at the info page for user agent faker you'll see some updated information about it that I just added. Or, you can just click here and see the same info: http://www.tateu.net/repo/html/uafaker.htm

does this work on7.1 beta 3?
I don't know. Why don't you put on your best guinea pig suit and let us know?

As noted in the first post of this thread, that is a known issue with the back end library, libstatusbar. I actually just compiled a modified version of libstatusbar, though, and have it fully working in all app store apps, all stock Apple apps and almost all Cydia apps. I sent my changes via email to the libstatusbar dev. Hopefully he will look into it.

Tried but it doesn't work sadly.

Unfortunately I only have 7.0.4 and no spare devices to play with beta OS versions on. It could be a really simple fix, or it could be something complicated.

What's your twitter username?
Will try opennotifier out later :)
Thanks for updating this must have tweak

This is great! Thank you for moving this project forward.

Is there a way to install the icon packs from Cydia without it wanting to uninstall your version and install the broken version?

Thanks again!

The easy way is change the package name to "Opennotifier" not "OpenNotifier - tateu".
Because cydia believes that "OpenNotifier - tateu." is not "Opennotifier", so cydia install the broken version.

those packs still don't work (even before tateu's version had "- tateu") in the name. The naming convention of the icons in those packs needs to be slightly changed for iOS 7 I believe.

Well, this was never supposed to really exist or be released as something I provided support for. I updated it for iOS7, arm64 for my own use and forwarded my changes over to the developer so it would hopefully be officially updated. I never heard back from the dev (and speaking of that, my track record with successfully contacting devs through Cydia is not that good) and here we are now.

Normally, when you modify someone else's open source package, you fork it and give it a new name but I didn't think of the issue people are having with icon packs. These icon packs explicitly depend on the bundle identifier being com.n00neimp0rtant.opennotifier. I'm starting to get several emails through Cydia about this and I really don't want to have to continuously respond to them.

I hate to keep switching things up on you guys but I think it might be best if I change the bundle identifier back to com.n00neimp0rtant.opennotifier. I think I can still keep the name change as "OpenNotifier - tateu," though, so atleast it still looks like a modified package that is not by the original dev.

I think that's fine. Do whatever makes this easiest for you since, as you said, you're just supplying something you adapted to work for yourself for others here. Thanks again for all the work.

:(

I was changing the message and mail icons for OpenNotifier New version 2.0~beta and after I respring the boot logo keeps flashing. I connected my iphone 5 to my computer and it let me upload all my photos, it did a auto back up on itunes and also was able to transfer these files to my desktop using iFunBox.

For some reason I cant view ifile with iFunBox to transfer everything else. Any suggestions? My power button doesnt work either

thanks!

Do you have openssh installed? If not, why don't you? I think every iOS jailbreaker should have it installed and know how to connect to it via WiFi and USB to help them get out of situations such as these, especially if any of the physical buttons are broken.

If your Power button worked, I would say to just power off the device and boot into No Substrate Mode by holding the volume up button while the device boots. I don't know if that works while in a boot loop, but it's worth a try...so hold the volume up button while it boot loops and see what happens.

If that doesn't work and you have openssh installed, try and connect to your device with ssh, either via WiFi or USB. Once connected, you can respring into safe mode.

Respring into safe mode: killall -SEGV SpringBoard

And just in case anyone wanted to know...
Normal Respring: killall -9 SpringBoard
Reboot: reboot
PowerOff: halt

Once you are in safe mode or No Substrate Mode, you can open Cydia and uninstall whatever you think is causing the problem.

Unfortunately I don't have openssh, never expected anything like this to happen. It wont let me restore from a back up either. Yeah if only my power button worked

Guess I am stuck. Do you know how to access ifile using iFunBox?

You can't access iFile. iFile is a program that runs on the device itself. If you don't have openssh or afc2add installed, you cannot access the full file system on your device from your computer. I suggest starting your own thread for this, though, as this is not OpenNotifier related.
