Hey, the OpenOffice.org 3.0 beta is now downloadable. Lots of nice interface improvements -- fully acquified, no X11 required! Decent speed.

I won't trade it for iWork, but it can certainly replace MS Office when I need to do something iWork can't handle -- graphs with error bars, trendlines, scatter plots, etc.

I use NeoOffice because up until now OOO has required X11. Now that that's no longer the case, can anyone tell me if it launches faster than NeoOffice? It's always been a peeve of mine that NeoOffice takes forever to launch.

Its not much faster, but hopefully it will speed up.

I have found it launches about 1/3 the time of NeoOffice (on MBP Penryn - Feb 08). I haven't really used NeoOffice since the pre-Beta, and now the Beta, came out.
