Maybe I didn't read it right but it looks like the current non-beta version of it will NOT run on Intel macs. Furthermore, it appears as though you need to join the "early access program" to get a version that does. Can anyone verify this? It was really unclear to me. My Office trial is going to expire in 3 weeks, after which I either need NeoOffice or I'll need to wait until summer when M$ comes out with their next Office.

You did read it wrong :) The Early Access Program is only for the newer, experimental features (basically fundraising for the two developers).

Scroll down the page and you'll see download links for both PPC and Intel.

And don't get scared off by the label "Beta" -- their quality standard is amazing, you'll find the beta better than most release versions, and even the alpha releases are quite usable.

I read a news long time ago saying that OO will drop X11 and move to Cocoa.
Does anyone know how is it going?
Is the NeoOffice the product of this switch?

I tried out NeoOffice... it is painfully slow. If this software was not free, there is no way I'd use it. OK for occasional use (as in once a week).

Same goes for the Windows version, although it is not nearly as slow.
