Opera Air Brings Meditation and Wellness to Web Browsing

> The Norwegian browser maker
Sorry, but Opera is Chinese since 2016, right? Founder forked to Vivaldi.

Why do they still say Norway at the bottom?
You can easily inform yourself by reading their Wikipedia page. Anyway, here you go:

In 2016, Opera, developed in Norway, became a subsidiary of an investment group led by a Chinese consortium.[20]In 2018, Opera Software went public on the NASDAQ stock exchange. By the end of 2022, the consortium sold all of its shares, and Opera in turn committed to repurchase all of its American Depository Shares to reestablish its corporate autonomy. As of the end of 2023, Opera Software was 72.4% owned by Kunlun, a Chinese public company, making it a subsidiary of that company. Opera CEO Zhou Yahui is a controlling shareholder in Kunlun.

Carrying your devices and desk. This seems to be targeted for some one who needs relief at desk. Not a sub for gym or walk.
If you need relief from screen time at your desk, the simplest course of action would be to turn off the screen for 10 minutes instead of putting some "mindfulness" themed crap on it. Also there is a thing called "getting up for a minute" which I highly recommend.

That’s why Norway is one the Happiest countries in the world I guess and the U.S. flounders. Personally I enjoy chilled music or Above and Beyond - Flow State while I’m working.

I don’t need to do any of it. I meditate 2 hrs in the morning and other 2 at night. But, every one is different, more options to different people. You do you, what ever works. Let people have more choices.

The main thing I'm concerned with in a web browser is that it works well while using the minimum computer resources. I'm also concerned with privacy.

And on their blog they claim to be European.

There's an odd ownership structure with one org owning the IP the other managing distribution.

I confirmed the Kunlun ownership by checking their SEC filings. Here's one example.

Took a look. Sadly the interface isn't all clear and glassy looking like the image at the top of the article. Plus there's a whole lot of 'send us information' toggles and AI helpers and Social Media integrations right in the browser.

Opera Air is now in My Trash.

Have we officially entered the era of “smart” toasters and refrigerators with TVs on them?

Because those gimmicks are far more useful than whatever the heck this is.
