Opera does sync bookmarks as wellI think the OP is talking about bookmarks. Opera doesn’t even sync Safari bookmarks on the same Mac. Let alone across devices and OSs.
Safari bookmarks ? How do you mean? You'd want opera to sync safari bookmarks ?

This is why I don't even bother considering it anymore. I've used it 15 years ago and it was good, but I don't want to know anything about it today. The fact that the parent company is a Chinese consortium is a little concerning also from a privacy aspect.
Used to use it but kinda gave up. Chromes more consistent , is faster , has better integration to the OS (on Android at least) , provides with a native password manager , which afaik opera doesn't , has excellent RAM managementI only use Opera anymore. I even stopped using Safari about a year ago. I love Opera. I'm also of the "anything but Chrome" mindset.
Ahh. My bookmarks sync as well though. It's one of the sync settings. That is strange.I think the OP is talking about bookmarks. Opera doesn’t even sync Safari bookmarks on the same Mac. Let alone across devices and OSs.
The data they gather, the ad blocker that doesn't work, the OS being a RAM hog. Honestly, the ads on Chrome are the worst and I'm not big on using 47 extensions to try to combat them. Opera does have a password manager. Battery has never been an issue either. Another little feature that I love in Opera is if I am watching a YouTube video and I move to another tab, I automatically get an adjustable picture-in-picture widow of the video (which continues to play seamlessly). I didn't have to do anything in terms of set up for this either. But I'm not hating on Chrome, if you like it go ahead and use it. I'm just not a fan.Used to use it but kinda gave up. I wonder if battery is better on opera though.
Why do you hate chrome so much? Because of the data they gather ?
Ad blocker that doesn't work? Tell me more about it plsThe data they gather, the ad blocker that doesn't work, the OS being a RAM hog. It's not integrated to edge, it's integrated to bing. Not the same thing at allWhoa. The first browser to integrate with an AI chatbot? That's HUGE! Let me go chat with the chatbot that is integrated with Edge about it!
Seriously though, AI/chatbots are super cool for a lot of things but they are terrible at replacing internet searches and I can't figure out why companies are insistent on us using them over traditional search.
Mmm, no I just opened Edge and I'm looking at an integrated chatbot. I mean yes it's technically Bing's AI chatbot (even if it is ChatGPT under the hood) but it's a Bing AI chatbot integrated into my browser. It's not integrated to edge, it's integrated to bing. Not the same thing at all
We're starting to see the first wave of AI-reimagined apps. It's an exciting time. We're finally going to get the first real disruption to traditional software.
I don't really care for this browser but it's a start of a profound change in how we use software in my opinion.
you cannot access it without opening a new tab, while opera allows you to access it in this very tab, from what I understandMmm, no I just opened Edge and I'm looking at an integrated chatbot. I mean yes it's technically Bing's AI chatbot (even if it is ChatGPT under the hood) but it's a Bing AI chatbot integrated into my browser.
Why can these companies not think beyond sticking a text box in a sidebar to interact with a semi-useless chatbot? How is this a game-changer?
Very underwhlemed. The tab grouping thing is kinda cool, but that's about it.
I guess we've had different experiences then. I've seen more ads on Chrome than any other browser I've ever used. The built in ad/pop-up blocker in Opera takes care of everything. I don't need an extension that often fails to block ads. I couldn't tell you the names of the extensions I used in Chrome because it has been a while, but they definitely didn't block enough ads. Yes, the password manager in Opera works OS wide. I use MacOS, Windows 11, Android, iOS, and iPadOS almost daily. I am just not a fan of Chrome at all. But hey, more people use it than any other browser so there must be something to it for the people who enjoy it.Ad blocker that doesn't work? Tell me more about it pls
Chrome doesn't pack an adblocker, but all extensions I tried worked
Chrome isn't a RAM hog anymore, in fact since months chrome uses less ram than safari , they've improved it tremendously. And opera isn't rly light on resources either
Ads on chrome aren't worse than on any browser, they are the same haha . I used Adguard desktop and it block literally everything. Did you try ublock origin extension maybe ?
Don't see why you struggled with 47 different extensions
Wait opera has a password manager that works OS wide on Android ,iOS, IPADOS? now that's cool,i gotta check that
Oh yeah fair enough, I mean there are many reasons not to use chrome , just curious why you said anything but chrome, and how opera suits you better![]()
*sigh* So you're arguing just to argue. Here. Only tab open is Google. Which is not Bing.you cannot access it without opening a new tab, while opera allows you to access it in this very tab, from what I understand
and it does show in New Tab, but that's pretty much where the integration stops, for as soon as you enter your request, it brings you to bing.com, which I can also do on chrome and safari
Actually no, last i checked I didn't have that iirc, and I'm glad to be proven wrong*sigh* So you're arguing just to argue. Here. Only tab open is Google. Which is not Bing.

OK.Eh, opera has had sync for years now , that's spreading false information
Did you log into your account on both machines ?
No offence but enabling sync is really easy, this is spreading misinformation
Chromium, actuallyI think that Opera uses WebKit… They should stop pretending that they are innovating.
Sure ,I'll send it when I get access to my dad's iphone , or my ipadOK.
So show me where in Opera on iOS in SETTINGS there is an option to sync.
Seriously.
I am not in the business to "spread misinformation".
If you do know how, please let us know.
Thanks.
As I asked in my post, how do you set it up in SETTINGS in iOS?I sync between MacOS, iOS, and Android daily.
