    Hello,
    I made the switch from a PC to my first Mac just a week ago. I went with the 3.06ghz 24 inch iMac and love it so far. The question I have is what is the average operating temperature while running WoW. Right now i have istat nano and smc fan control installed and just want to make sure my system isn't running to hot. I have read a lot of other posts but haven't seen an answer other then turn this up and turn this down. Right now my temps seems to be in the mid to high 60C when playing WoW with fans speeds as follows;

    ODD Min 1000
    HDD Min 1700
    CPU Min 1700

    I really don't want to crank up the fans as high as I have seen in some posts, but I also don't want to mess up this new machine running it to hot. Anyone able to give me some ideas of what an average safe temps would be while running full screen?

    Thanks in advance
    Scott

    Your machine is smarter than you give it credit for. If it gets to hot, it will shutdown. This is also how you will know if you have a problem with your machine overheating. The CPU in your computer is designed to run at temperatures as high as 106C (give or take) so you still have quite a lot of headroom. I would say your temperatures look very normal.

    Those temps are just fine, my MBP reaches easily 80C while playing WoW.

    You could use "/console maxfps 60" to lock fps @60FPS inside WoW to make it stress the computer a bit less
