Opinion about Apple Watch Series 7

Hi all!
I am about to buy the new Apple Watch series 7, but I need some advice from all of you.
I prefer the aluminum version as I have an active lifestyle with regular gym sessions.
Also, I prefer the matte finish of the aluminum over the shinier SS.
All my EDC is black (matte, preferrabily), and Apple's decision to "kill" black leather cases and Apple watches bands is just making me doubt (I was perfectly fine about the space gray aluminum Apple atch).
How classy is the new midnight color, both for band and for the Apple Watch itself?
I am waiting for my iPhone 13 Pro Graphite and had to choose also de midnight leather case, but I am not sure if I am going to be pleased with it.
Hope to get some clarifying opinios from all of you.

Midnight is basically black barely see the blue tint and that is only in really bright light If at all.

Don't doubt be happy. Midnight is more black than space grey and black leather (black leather band is still an option in my country, but is not as black as midnight according to the pictures). I have not seen the leather bands in person, but don't doubt it is true that midnight is darker than black, after seing how black the midnight aluminium watch is. I recommend you go to store and check for yourself.

Based off what you describe the space black titanium sounds like the best choice for you, lighter than steel with the black matte finish.

I have an S6 and it didn’t scratch at all and it got knocked around pretty good.

I am still trying to decide whether spending that kind of money for a AW S7 45mm graphite when Apple comes out with a new version each year and seems to be quality issues depending on what you get. I have a few more days to decide whether to return for money back. The main reason for getting the watch is for notifications so I don't miss a call/text when I am outside and also the ECG sensor. Is this worth $1152 CDN? It's equivalent to the cost of an iphone 13. Are we all crazy to spend that kind of money for something that depreciates over half the next year. I know if you sell private you can recoup a bit more. I can justify the phone but the watch at this price? SS now does not have DLC so it will scratch compared to the previous AW models. Sounds like Apple is going cheap and cutting corners this year.
