Opinion on Canon SX1 IS

I am interested in upgraded from a point and shoot, to something a little more advanced. I noticed the Canon SX1 IS, and its reasonably priced here. Anyone have any opinions/experiences? Not going to do anything professional, but I do want to go with something that is not entry level. THanks for the help.

The question you need to ask yourself is "what do I want from a camera?" If it's a huge zoom and manual controls, the SX1 would be fine. If it's better image quality you want, look at a DSLR or the G11/S90; the SX1 has a similarly sized sensor as the ones in point-and-shoots and will give similar results in terms of colour and low light performance.
