I have an iPhone 6 and the only area of dissatisfaction has been with touch ID. In cold weather it just goes to poop even though I have retrained it during the winter. I currently have 4 fingerprint profiles for my thumb: two in warm weather and two in cold. Performance in cold weather is still lacking.

So, any experience with this going from an iPhone 6 to either a 6s or 7?

i've previously had all of the phones with touch id. the 5s, SE, 6 plus, 6s plus, and 6s. the 6s versions were always better. I'm not 100% sure but i think the 5s,SE, and 6 all have the first generation of touch id where the 6s and 7 have the 2nd gen version.

the 6s phones were a lot faster and more reliable.. to me at least.

I have the 6Plus, coworker has the 6S. His Touch ID is so much quicker for recognition. But the overall performance and use is on the same level from our tests.
No problem in winter for either of us that we know of.
