From what I have read, it's not all that fast. Certainly not comparable to a SSD.

thats true but ssd are expensive and dont have much storage space. if they are cheaper and bigger in storage it would be more sufficient.

FYI, SSD drives are not meant for storage. you put your pertinent programs on your SSD. believe me, SSD's fly. Its the biggest advancement in the HDD industry in years. And no, I am not understating this fact.

SSD drives will fall continuously, if you want them to drop more, i'd say wait it out until holiday season. Might get some decent deals then. SSD drives are sold by many manufacturers, Crucial, OCZ, Intel, Kingston to name a few.
