Never used one and wonder your thoughts. Thinking $600 max if you have an opinion? Want it plug and play into a M1 mini

I just purchased my first curved monitor this week and I love it! I went with the AOC CU34G2X which is a 34" ultrawide. I'm using it primarily with my 16" MBP M1 Max but also plan to hook up my work laptop, an HP Elitebook, to it as well. I purchased a usb-c to DisplayPort cable but it's been very finicky so I've been using the HDMI cable instead. On my Mac, I can do the full 3440x1440 resolution @ 100 Hertz but my HP is only able to do 3440x1440 @ 30 Hertz. I assume that is due to the crappy graphics card in the HP but I haven't done much research on it. Super happy with it, especially for the price - just hope it lasts a long time 🙂

After test driving a slew of monitors, I ended up keeping the Benq EX3501 and it continues to serve me very well.

I have mine plugged into a Lenovo TB Dock (Display port), which I can switch between my Macs and my Asus Zephyrus gaming notebook (which doesn’t have TB, but still magically works). The monitor also has video over USB-C if you want to connect directly.

I use 2 Dell 3220 curved gaming monitors with my M1 Mini. They replaced two 27" apple cinema displays. I had to play around with the connects a bit but one uses a display port, and the other HDMI. I got them on sell for ~$550. No issues with them and the curve helps with a glare issue in the afternoon.
