for me personally:

it makes sense for swipes (3 finger swipe left to go to a page on the right)

but not for scrolling (left and right scrolling are particularly counterintuitive). I think the reason why is that we still swipe left for back, and right for forward in the browser. Apple really mixed two things up here.

The worst part is that I want it for Launchpad so swiping is inverted, but I want regular scrolling for browser. But they link it so I cannot pick and choose.

APPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) (best Khan scream)

Despise it. Changed it back to the better format.

Same here, first thing I changed. When the scroll wheel goes down so should the scroll bar on the content.

edit: it might be better for a touch pad to be inverted, but with the wheel it felt very wrong

Honestly, i would like to hear a physicial to explain wich moves is more painfull. Grab or push. Personaly, it hurt a little bit to push the trackpad forward than bringing it closer. Since we scroll down more than we scroll up, the easiest should be the one that doesnt hurt.

I dont like the new way...

Am I the only one that feels that?

Once they fix the swiping/scrolling to and back on Chrome I'll use it...if not I can't.

No they didn't.

In Safari you now scroll as if it were between pages in Preview, albeit horizontally.

The whole page moves as well, which makes it very intuitive - you drag the page to the right, to get to the last page in the history, which of course is on the left.

I personally liked it. Until I went to grab my blackberry... And the fact that I could never get used to it for skipping in VLC player, so I changed it back to the standard way of scrolling.

How much time do you spend in VLC compared to the rest of the system? IS it really worth it losing out on the scrolling?

works very well on iPad/iPhone. Hated it in lion, first thing i turned off.
Been scrolling the same way for about 15 years. Sometimes the wheel does not need reinventing.

Honestly, I'm having the same issue a little. I'm going to give it a bit though to see if my fingers adjust though since I love how the gestures behave with natural scrolling so much that I just don't want to give it up :)

I didn't just change it JUST because of VLC. Scrolling on my BB and when using the windows machine downstairs were also the reason as to why I changed it back. It's nice to only having to use one method of scrolling :)

Yeah, not everyone uses safari. Love the new animations, but I'm not going to switch over from chrome for that.

That's the problem: not all apps are integrated to scroll in this fashion. To make this a truly intuitive design, ALL apps should have this interface.

This is great for touchscreens, not so much for a laptop with a trackpad imo.

Sorry, should have replied to this thread instead of another one. Anyway, how do I change to inverted from natural? I go to Preferences, then to Trackpad. I see the one for it but can't seem to change it. Any help would be appreciated. Oh have an early 2011 MBP.

I changed it back to normal at first but now I've changed it back to inverted scrolling to give it a go.

Hmmmm, I don't really like it so far :/

All this choice talk is false. There is no choice. Not if you want the OS to act consistently. You can change it back for part of the gestures but not for all.

Either way they're forcing you to get used to it. I'm not happy. Lack of control, lack of choice, and iOS crap spilling over to the Mac side. Dumbing it down, that seems to be the ticket.

It seems somehow logical to me. I had to get used to it for 5 minutes but then I already wished Snow Leopard had the option…

I prefer regular scrolling, but app switching is more confusing that way

Id rather scroll "naturally" and and have the screen move in the direction i swipe my fingers to app switch
