I'm in the camp of the keyboard accessories make the iPad, well not an IPAD. You might as well have a MacBook then. I think the best use of IPAD's just straight with a case and a slim one at that. If you must have a keyboard, I like bringing my Magic Keyboard and separate trackpad, which I have a case for.

I can readily remove my iPad from the MKB and have a pure tablet form factor with touch screen, not something I can do with a MacBook. For me, that makes it more versatile than a MacBook.

I would like to upgrade from my 11”pro (2018) to a 13” model and I am getting tired of waiting for Apple to release the m4 pro on the refurb store, so I am considering either an m3 air 13” or an m2 pro 12.9”.
The main worry about the pro is that it is starting to be rather old, but the mini-led seems like it would be a good benefit.
How is mini-led holding up for users that had it from the beginning?

By the way, I am already very aware that either option would be huge improvement on what I have.
Look at Costco’s website. I see they have the 256 and 512 with cellular for $899 and $999 for the 13 inch models.

Yeah but you can remove the iPad from the Magic Keyboard and you have a tablet. I can’t do that with my MacBook Pro.
