Hello all,

Just a quick question for anyone who can give me some advice, I just read online that the £25 battery replacement service will be ending very soon and going up too £79.

My iPhone X is a year old and running at 95%. Seeing as I just got married I won’t be upgrading to a new phone for a long time

So I was wondering whether it’s worth me getting the battery replaced so I’m back to 100%. Any point? I don’t want to be stuck down the road with a bad battery and £79 to pay to get it sorted.

Please give me your opinions.

Many thanks all
Jack

No reason for a new battery now. Just wait till it gets in bad condition.

I'm trying to figure out what one has to do with the other...

As for the battery, I would suggest waiting until December when your battery will be about 93% before replacing it.

I'm guessing they inevitably will make some microscopic nick on it somewhere if they open it up, so I wouldn't bother for 5%. That's solid for a year old phone, my launch day 8 is also at 95% (granted that's two months older than yours by sale date but close enough).

I wouldn’t want to waste my time with 5% decrease and I would use it till the battery is around 80% or couldn’t keep the device at peak performance.

Awesome! Thanks everyone for your help.

Much appreciated.

- I have no money after paying for a wedding.

Weddings are often expensive lol. I would imagine wedding made a serious dent on savings.

What % is the best time to replace the battery? I’m sitting at 90% now. iPhone X

I’d get it since it’s cheap. But truthfully, if you can’t upgrade to a new phone “until a long time from now”, you shouldn’t have gotten married yet. Not trying to be mean, just trying to help you be stable. Either way, congrats.

Thanks... but I would always choose my wife over a new phone... it’s abit sad to feel otherwise...

I wouldn’t.

Like someone else said, it’s a big gamble
To open up the phone for just 5% battery capacity.

Normal design spec runs it down to 20% within, what, 500 charge/discharge cycles.

My launch day X’s battery is currently at 92%. I plan on taking advantage of the $29 battery replacement in December.
