Ok

I agree on all of the above. It’s an incredible phone and the battery is very incredible.

There’s a couple of small things:

- when you connect the charger, it doesn’t tell you how long is left until charged
- in the UK there’s no lock screen widgets yet, these are coming according to an OPPO blog
- I can’t find a way to automatically toggle pictures of my children on the lock screen like I can with my iPhone.
- there’s no case options in the UK at the moment, not even from OPPO until the 14th
- I’d prefer more folder/widget customisation like OneUI such as being able to make widgets transparent and stackable
- I’d like more lock screen customisation, again, like OneUI
- Seems to be zero benefit of having an OPPO account

These are tiny niggles, but other than that, it’s an excellent phone.
the case included looks really good

i think it's amazing that we have a 7500 mah battery in UK even if it drives up cost. oppo x9 ultra is said to be coming global too and we know that is likely 1399 or something like that.

colourOS has to be the smoothest OS now and has some great features software wise

I can't register for an Oppo account being in the U.S. Tried some of the suggestions posted online and no success, but not sure I need an account anyway.

Did your phone not come with a case? Mine came with a gray/titanium colored silicone case. It's not premium but not trash either and will get the job done while waiting for my case from Ali Express.

Really miss having lock screen widgets. I have my combined Outlook and Google calendars as lock screen widgets on my Fold 7 and iPhone. Other than that still really enjoy the phone. My GWU synced perfectly and everything works including Samsung Health.

I created an Oppo account and selected UK as my region and it works. You need the account if you want to take advantage of the custom themes, etc. Hopefully after the OP15 launch they will push an update for lock screen widgets.

I think there are some regulatory issues in the US (battery size, degradation) and safety concerns that have prevent companies that sell prominently in the US from adopting them yet. IIRC, it's only the Chinese OEMs that have used them with any significance so far and I don't think their uses are as regulated there.

It's just import headaches, really. If a big company like Apple or Samsung started doing SiC batteries, the rules might change, but (for now) as long as each individual cell is under 5300 mAh, it can be imported into the US without being treated as a dangerous good and subject to additional regulations and paperwork requirements. The current OnePlus and RedMagic SiC phones we get in the US are all two-cell batteries of 3-3.4k mAh per a cell, so Apple or Samsung could do the same if they really wanted to. The real issues are (1) that having a two-cell battery is less efficient, so some of those extra mAh are just wasted and (2) as you said, SiC degrades faster - I haven't seen much long-term testing, but if the battery health is tapping out before the two year mark then Apple and Samsung would need to raise prices on their extended warranties or lose a lot of money on battery replacements.

Lock screen widgets might be waiting on Google. It's part of 16 QPR2, which is still in beta until December. (Unless Oppo has their own take on this that I am not aware of.)

I've seen the Singapore version has them.
