just what i am expecting.

they made me sign a ton of crap saying I wouldn't sell it.

I am going to list it on craiglist saying I will only trade it for a late 2012 27inch iMac or a retina macbook pro :)

I had the chance to do that since I could have kept my preorder but always thought it was a scummy thing to do. I think it's borderline subhuman during the holidays. The people that buy up 80 tickle me elmos and jack up the price by 800% to force parents to pay those prices cause it's the one thing their child wants. Lol...i don't exaclty hold myself to the highest morale standard but that's one thing I can never sink to doing.

Crazy prices. People buying them are either super rich or live under a rock. It's not limited edition or anything. Plenty more will be made.

If someone wants it at that price, then that's just demand meeting supply. It's a free market.

I don't get why people get worked up over this. You can protest by simply not purchasing it at that price (free market mechanism at work).

If they were selling bread and also happen to be the only place that you can buy food anywhere, well then that's a different story.

You've gotta love human greed. This "Me Me Me! It's all about me! I don't give a **** about my fellow human beings compared to my own happiness" type world we live in can have some ugly examples of people screwing other people over in the holy name of "market value."

Everyone's got a moral line that they won't cross... just that some of the people out there have their line all the way down in the sewer ;)

Well, the person willing to spend that much because of impatience is their business. I say they deserve each other. Its not like the scarcity of gold I phones is because of them.

Who made you sign something?

At&t when I got it with my contract upgrade. They kept mentioning it. I really don't see them being able to do anything about it. I mean I wouldn't sell the iphone because I really want it but if some sap gives me a 1,500 or 2k computer for a phone I paid $200 for then sure... by all means I'll make that deal.

Same as I am getting Xbox one and PS4 on November 14th. I preordered both on Amazon as soon as I was allowed to. Don't really want the X-box one anymore and the PS4 I defiantly want but the only game I was is Fifa 14 and Call of Duty ghost which will both be on PS3. If Come November 15th someone offers me $800+ for 1 then I am selling it.

It's not greed it's called people are idiots for not preordering. Fine most places wouldn't let you preorder a iphone 5s but things like video game systems come out every 5 years and are always impossible to find for the 1st 6 months.

i know. if people will just wait and not give in to this people selling their stuff for ridiculous price then it will settle down. no buyer no seller. plain and simple. it's just that i am surprised at the prices their asking. at least asking $600 for a phone that they got for $200 should be fair. but oh well that's economics 101 and business 101.

Do grasp the difference between "selling" price and "asking" price. The phones you linked to do not appear to be "selling" at all.

It's awful when people put guns to others heads and force them to spend money.

Just awful...

I remember when I was a kid and people only had to buy things if they wanted to. If someone asked too much, we didn't buy.

Those were the days...

Somebody call the waaahmbulance

seriously..

It sucks that the resellers are buying up so much of the stock that those of us who wanted the phone could have had, but at the end of the day, they are making an easy (lots of) buck(s). GOod for them.

maybe not. as this one got sold awhile ago for $1,330. lucky seller. too bad as the buyer got duped (maybe not as he might have tons of moolah that he didn't care at the price at all).

I don't remember what the eBay/PayPal seller fees are, but he doesn't get every single cent... More likely he will only get $1000 or slightly more.

Where did the buyer get duped? If they ask for a gold version, they're getting a phone that could be extremely difficult to find/ buy, they didn't have to wake up early or wait on any lines, and they'll likely receive it only a day or so after it's release.

Sure, they could have waited a week (or more) and bought it for much less, but that's their choice.

Until Apple actually makes enough phones to fill the demand at launch, there will be scalpers charging high prices and people eager to spend their money to have it 'NOW.'

Nothing to 'BEWARE' about.

Anyone that can sell an iPhone to somebody for more than its current retail value is ahead of the game. They are doing nothing wrong.

What's there to beware?

Every time I see a marked up iPhone on launch day, I know that the seller is going to get rich off of some poor sap that has more money than brains. Or, maybe the buyer just has a lot of money, and it really doesn't matter.
