I keep trying to burn disks on my MBP but am having problems, sometimes it just spits out the disk or it lets me get as far as loading information on then gives me about 3 errors. The last error code I got was Error Code 0x80020042. I have no idea what this means and cant find the code anywhere. Am hoping i dont have replace the optical drive but my computer asked me to restart it as the operating system had crashed. I need to know if anyone can help me before I have to take it to someone who will require me to sell a kidney to repair it.

what machine do you have? what software are you using to burn discs, and what sort of discs are you burning?

My computer is a MacBook Pro laptop. I have tried using my Toast and also just putting the files straight onto the disk and burning using the computer facility. I have tried Philips CD's and Philips DVD's. These used to work but have not been able to burn for about a month.
