    In short yes. I purchased that same drive from Max Upgrades for $25 with shipping. They're based in the US so it doesn't take weeks to arrive from Hong Kong. It works but the quality is lacking.

    Cool! Thanks for the response. The drive wont be used much, maybe a couple times a month, so quality doesnt need to be top notch, just good enough to keep it in place (and it matches the design of the macbook pro, so it all works out).

    Are there any high quality enclosures that look like the SuperDrive (the EBay link)? I bought the one from Max Upgrades and it's a plastic POS. Pieces were snapping when I tried to open it back up.
