Optical storage device

I currently have an Apple SuperDrive to apples me to work with dvds.

It’s all good and fine except I need to use a usb-a to c adapter and oh it is still usb2 speed. Our friends in Cupertino have never updated this.

So, looking for recommendations on an upgraded dvd (and maybe Blu-ray ) drive with usbc and usb3 speed.

You are fine with that Superdrive USB 2.0, 3.0 is useless. See explanation, that's why Apple did not bothered to upgrade.
