I have an iPhone 14 PM running 16.4.1 with Optimized Battery Charging (OBC) enabled and Clean Energy charging disabled. I wake up every day at the same time, and my phone would always be charged to 100% when left on the charger overnight. Even if I woke up 10 or 15 minutes before my alarm, the phone would still be fully charged.
Over the last few weeks, I've started to notice that often times my phone will still be charging during my normal wake-up time. Or if I wake up a bit earlier, the phone is still at 80% and not charging at all. I know that OBC is supposed to pick up from daily charging habits and hold the 100% charge until the phone is needed. But it seems like with a recent update, the OBC is way more aggressive and seems to wait with the charge until the very last moment, which is very annoying.
I've disabled and re-enabled the feature to re-train it, but it's still behaving the same. It seems like my only option currently is to disable it and potentially increase battery aging or live with a phone that often times is only charged to 80%. Has anyone else noticed something similar recently?
