Optimized Battery Charging not working - ASD + M1 MBP

I've had my ASD running off M1Pro MBP for about a week now, and optimized battery charging doesn't seem to be working. My battery is charging to 100% rather than 80% (as I think it should - I'm plugged in the whole time). Anyone else experiencing this? Not sure whether it is ASD issue or MacOS 12.3 issue... It was working before I attached the ASD, but I installed the firmware update and had to reboot, etc.
