Hi,

I have a problem with Optimized Battery Charging feature.

My Mac is connected to a charger most of the time and it always have "Charging on hold" and says "Rarely Used On Battery" then it starts to drain the battery to 95% or so, then it starts charging again and as soon as it reaches 100% it says again "Charging on hold" and "Rarely Used On Battery" and the same thing happens again and again.

It’s M1 Air and I'm using the original 30W charger, I was suspecting that it might not be enough for keeping the laptop charged and powering it at peak, but I tried a third-party 65W charger and the same issue happened! Any ideas how to solve this?

What is the current “battery health” reported by Settings > Battery ?

Its currently 98%, but the issue happened even when the health was 100%, so its not related to battery health as the device is still new

You can manage your "optimized battery charging" using AlDente. Install AlDente and turn off Apple's optimized battery charging.

I know about this app, but I prefer to not use a third party app, I wish I can make the built-in feature to work as intended

Do any one knows how to reset the data of optimized battery charging feature?

AlDente works much better than Apple's crappy battery management. I have used it for over 5 years now on multiple Macs and it never fails. All Apple has to do is give Mac users a customizable set charging limit... but if they do, it will likely only be for M5 + Macs for greed.
