My Ultra 2 is still charging to 100%. I have waited for weeks and go to bed and wake about the same time everyday and my Ultra does not go into the Optimized Charge Mode yet!

Am I doing something wrong, missing a setting or what?

contact Apple ...

Happy to report that today, I see that Optimized Charge Limit is working. I'm on watchOS 10.1.1 using it on Ultra. The charge limit the software has determined is around 78%.

I think it was just about a week or so ago that I re-setup my watch as a new watch and re-paired it with my iPhone. Between that time and until recently, the watch was always charging to 100% and I was monitoring and hoping it would limit it to 80% or below. Prior to the last upgrade, Optimized Charge Limit was working for me.

My SE2 on 10.1.1 STILL doesn't have this feature working. At all. And: the idea that I'd have to re-set-up, re-pair, etc is dumb (dumb of Apple if that's what they will require to make this work again). They need to fix WatchOS.

My Ultra 2 also doesn't seem to do anything other than charge to 100% daily. And It only gets down to around 75-80% after a day's use, so there's no need for it to charge to 100% every time.

Because it’s completely broken and they seem in no hurry to fix it.

I find optimised charging on Apple Watches very flaky. It can work fine for weeks but if you put on to the charger an hour late one night then to stops working for weeks. Sometimes turning it off and on again kicks it back into life.

Turning on "Significant Locations' got my 80% working.
I’ve had that on literally as long as I’ve owned iPhones and Apple Watches. Hasn’t helped. Yea, it’s required to be on for this to work, but being on isn’t helping some of us.

I think mine has started working. Last two days its only charged to ~80%.

Right now after wearing it for the day, it’s down to 45% whereas normally it would be around 75%.

I have the reverse of this. AWU2. I shut my optimized charging off and it always shows the charging ring in optimized charging mode. I have to manually shut it off each time. Very annoying as I only charge when I’m in the shower. Need it to 100% when I get out for sleep tracking and all of the following day.

Mine is a Series 8 and when WatchOS 10 was realised it began to do the 80% max charge but once the following revision updates of the OS began to release and i installed them i have not seen the Watch stop at 80% any more, always charges to full 100% each day :/
Nothing changed with my routine either or the amount of battery im consuming during the day & same time im putting it on the charger at night between 7-8pm.

I can only think the software update did something to it??

After we moved house August last year, I've only seen the optimized charging a couple of times at home, it used to activate every time before we moved. I almost always have the same routine too, to let it charge in the evening before bedtime. My old address is deleted, my new address is entered as "home". It's the only thing that changed.

I don't care that much, it just annoys me that it doesn't work... :)
