This question probably applies to all games, but,
I have the Borderlands GOTY edition.
I'm running on a late 2009 Macbook Model,
Processor 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB
Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 (11D50b)
With those specs.
So far I'm getting crappy fps, with considerable lag.
It has improved after tweaking some files, but my fps is still about 12-15 during battles, and even at 10 sometimes. While not engaging in combat, its playable, running at 20ish fps, which I'm trying to get for battle scenes.
I have a few questions:
How can I further optimize the Mac to make it smoother? I've exited all applications before playing.
Is there a way to allocate more memory to the game, because I have 4GB of RAM, yet it feels like Borderlands isn't tapping on that. I don't have that Automatic Graphics Switching options like Macbook Pros have, but I'm pretty sure its hidden somewhere in my Mac, because every time i take out the power it runs slower, so there must be a way to fully make use of the RAM because the Mac might be restricting it.
Thanks.
