What's up with this? When I'm home I like to stop my Mac from ever locking and turn it on when I love the house with it.

Am I going crazy or have these options been removed? It would seem it's now not possible to disable the lock screen...

Some other features disable that ability in the interest of security. Notably, FileVault. (This, by the way, is not new.)

This may not work for you as in my case I had the option but could not select my user name: I using my iCloud account to login. To enable the automatic logon feature I had to change my account so that it had a separate password then my iCloud password. Now I can use the automatic logon feature as before.
