I have used MacTheRipper for eternity it seems. Recently I have built a mac mini for HTPC use. I'd like to Rip some new DVDs of mine to store on the Mac mini HTPC drive.

If I use MTR I will get nice full disc extractions, I hope I can play the DVD though front row and get title screens and extras. I do believe I had done that before.

However, that takes >4 gigs of space usually.

I could use handbrake (not used it yet) but I assume I loose title screens, extras, DVD integration etc.

Are there any options to retain that full DVD integration but use less space?

Thanks

You can use a program like DETOX (Dvd2oneX) to compress the full disc rips from MTR.

You can easly compress all off your DVD rips to 4 gigs or slightly less and still end up with a decent image, this will keep the menu structure and extras in place.

You can try it on a free trial and see what you think, there will be some quality loss but it may be acceptable to you.
