Bear in mind that the Samsung is beaten on quite a few of these tests by the older Hitachi 7K200 200GB @7200rpm. The new 7K320 320GB is supposedly 12% faster again. I got one the day it was first for sale on OWC for my Mini, and it's great.
If speed, quietness and low power consumption are your main considerations, and 320GB is enough, I'd definitely recommend the 7K320.

Incidentally, I was using Newertech external to boot from and give me extra space, but now I have the 7K320 it is far better. Quieter, easier, faster, and I can live with 320GB.

Hmm...now I'm toying with getting one for my MBP.

Oh, I see. So now you do trust Tom's Hardware? :p

No I don't; they didn't disagree with my experience. :p

The 7K320 is an excellent drive. I do believe the WD 3200BEKT is a little bit faster. But the Hitachi has better power consumption.

There's some more interesting benchmarks here:

Don't ever buy the MasterDrive DX; bought one and it died in 2 days; my Samsung on the other hand is awesome. Of course the Samsung also does cost like $100 more..

Alpha -- who did you purchase the Samsung from? I think I'm going to purchase one this week.
