If you have a Mobile Share Value Plan, but don't have any phones on Next yet, you still got the $15-$25 discount on each line, depending on the amount of data. If you currently have it, once you get a new phone on a two-year contract, that discount will go away. The only way to keep the discount is by buying a phone off-contract or outright, or buying with Next.

Exactly - here is the math as I see it.

No, the $90 was including that discount. My MSV plan on contract with 2 phones is $120 a month.

What data bucket size are you using?

If 2GB as you noted, that doesn't make sense. 2GB MSV for 1 line is $60 for me and I'm on contract. How is yours so high for 2 phones?

You keep quoting me!!!!! lol

Kidding, but I did look, if I did $70 a month for 4 gigs data, plenty as I do 3 gigs and never use it all working from home, then $25 for a smartphone, minus $15 and then add $37.50 for a 5s with 32 gigs (hoping it is near same price) and upgrading every 12 months = $117.50 and I pay $104, BUT I would need to add $6 for insurance and then some for taxes. I am thinking $125, so still $20 or tad more a month, so I have to ask myself: worth it to upgrade each year for that much a month? Wish the lower one that was $10 cheaper wasn't down to 2 gigs, I have times I can use half of that, but who knows.
It seems that the $25/month for the smartphone there would already be accounting for the $15/month discount.

Trade and upgrade!

Sorry for the highjack but I didn't think this deserved an entire thread and it's related.

I'm looking to upgrade to the 6 from a 5s on ATT. Obviously I'm a considerable way off for eligibility so that's a no go. I'll keep the 5s before I screw myself that badly. However I'm on a family plan with my wife and kids as well as my mother. I'm curious if ATT would allow my mother and I to swap phones so I can have her upgrade. She's been eligible for about a year and while she loves her gadgets she could really care less if she has a 4s or a 5s. Does anyone have any idea how ATT handles something like this? I'd prefer to keep my same number rather than switch to hers and I know she feels the same. I'd be willing to if need be.

Again, sorry for the highjack and thanks for any insight you folks might have.

Buy the 6 on your moms line and swap the SIM with yours.

I'm on ATT with unlimited data on 2 lines and a family talk 750 plan. Going with NEXT and switching to 15GB mobile share. With my FAN discount it comes out to around the same. Maybe $10 more.
