My wife already uses the Oral-B pro. it has the whole timer thing as well and the cost was near $200. So believe me that the extra $20 buck to interact with the phone is not that big of a jump. I for one still brush the old fashion way. I am all about technology, except for in the bathroom. NSA has no business there, thank you.

I'm sure that if there were known terrorists, foreign espionage agents, drug dealers, marine biologists, and other liber-o-commies using these toothbrushes, the NSA would be very pleased to report to the dentists their patients' adherence to an excellent oral hygiene regimen.

I know I am in the minority, but I really want one. I have a Phillips right now and love it. It was only slightly cheaper than $220.

Also this exact brush is on amazon for ~$160[/QUOTE

If someone made a washcloth to tell you how clean you are would you buy it? Brushing your teeth is basic hygiene 101.
I'm sitting in church and a 3 year girl was playing with an iPhone during the entire service. It was basically a electronic pacifier. Adults need to step away from this as well.
Sometimes I reget even having a smartphone.

it should include Pokemon so you can raise your creature every time you brush your teeth!

soon enough your childs teeth would glow like a Twilight vampire in the sun

+1 for positive reinforcement.

I wouldn't mind catching them all for myself. One brush stroke at a time!

Electric toothbrushes are cheaper than ever now. Mine was less than $30 even and has the timer built-in too, same brand. When you have to replace the head every few months, there's no reason to pay over $200 to begin with. That's just nuts.

You don't need to be reading the news, you need to be focusing on cleaning your teeth properly.

Not yet. What until you see the blue tooth toilet paper roll. Keeps track of how many times you crap in a month, how much toilet paper is used during a session and how long you sit on the throne. Useful at home and especially at work.

lmfaoooo Finally i'll be able to have an accurate sheet/wipe ratio. hahahah x-)

What's next, a smart toilet to monitor my stool and urine samples? It'd present me with articles about how to improve my diet and possible diseases that I'm at risk for...

Actually...at first, I was sarcastic because of every simple thing becoming *smart* but I kind of want this toilet.

God knows I'm already reading stuff on my iOS devices, might as well add a few more things to read about.

I'd love to have a remote flush feature. Also for cold winter nights to have toilet seat warmer feature that you can activate remotely in bed from your phone before you get to the toilet! :D

I was thinking this, in a cheaper form, might be great for toddlers to encourage them to brush their teeth, but then thought the £2 flashing toothbrushes we did buy ours are fine.

I'm all for new tech, even if I can't see a use for it myself, but this seems pointless...

220 dollars and I still have to waggle it around by myself?

Come up with some sort of nanobot that lives in my mouth and sets to work like a pilot fish and I might consider it.

Even as I slowly sink into the depths of dementia...I can still brush my teeth without a $220 toothbrush and associated iPhone app.

Just because something can be made, doesn't mean it should be made...

Just because you don't think you would use something, doesn't mean it shouldn't be made. Many elderly people don't think there's any point in getting a smartphone either.

Oral-B: There are better things you could be doing...

Try preventing the way the toothbrush stops for a few seconds to tell you to clean a different part of your mouth! We're at the point where the users need to get smarter not the toothbrush getting 'dumber'.

Other than that, I've used their electric toothbrushes for a long time and they are fantastic - just no good in a hurry because it keeps stopping!

Smart Toilets and their apps are next. And the Japanese will lead the way, predictably.

There is a pretty big difference between manually brushing and using a head that rotates or spins. I think it would be pretty beneficial to see, mapped out, how I am brushing my teeth. Am I favoring one area, applying to much pressure in another area. I really value the way my teeth look, obsessed actually.

As I said earlier, it is $70 cheaper on amazon than this article states.
