Orange dot in the mail app...

How to I get rid of the orange dot. I've never had a flag icon or orange dot in my mail and i just restored my phone to 7.0.4, which is what i was on since it came out. and all of a sudden theres orange dots in my mail. Any way to turn them off completely?

Do you have messages flagged in OS X Mail.app or in iCloud Mail? Usually that's what they look like in iOS Mail.app.

The orange dots were never there on "read mail". I dont have any flags set.

Those are flagged messages. Go into the messages and at the lower left, unflag them with the flag icon.

I use multiple Gmail accounts via the native Email app. You're using iCloud email? My unread emails have the blue dot next to them & flagged emails show an actual red flag. Does iCloud email use the orange dot? IDK because I've never used iCloud email and IDK how it behaves visually.

i have mail turned off under iCloud. I unfledged all them and that worked but I'm wondering how they all got flagged at once directly after the restore. hmm

i have no idea. I've never even seen red dots ever.

Thats an option that can be changed in the settings.

Quite right! Thanks for that. I hadn't thought to investigate changing that feature since flags are OK with me.
