Order keeps getting delayed

I ordered a 13" 2017 rMBP. It says it's in stock and will ship next day. I have gotten 3 emails already that say it was delayed. Every day, it's a new email that says sorry, it's been delayed. Still says in stock and a friend of mine already got his.

Called Apple 4 times now (4 delays). They keep saying, it will arrive next day for sure. Anyone else had this?

Check to see if you can buy online and pick up local. That's usually what tend to do, though I typically buy a stock configuration.

I've received notifications that my order was delayed, but only once, not multiple delays. Tried other sites such and B&H Video or Amazon, Macmall, etc.

Is this a custom order?

Could be that if it is a custom configuration--it may be assembled in Texas or someplace close--that would help explain the delay

Thanks all for your answers, but I finally got a hold of a higher tech support level. Basically it was because I was doing an educational discount and I had already ordered an iMac, so I guess they do order reviews. And whomever was reviewing my order, forgot to put it back to ship status. So I was refunded shipping costs, received a free case for my iPhone, an apology, and my macbook shipped within an hour of getting off the phone with paid Saturday delivery.

I completely remembered, why I love Apple and have switched not just my environment, but also my career to iOS development.
