Order online or go to Apple store this weekend/next week

So I crapped out today after visiting 2 Sprint stores and my local Apple Store looking for a white/silver 32 or 64GB iPhone 5S. I'm very tempted to just order it on the Apple website but it's saying 7-10 days before it ships which means it will be October before I get it.

Am I better off stopping by the Apple Store a few times next week to see if I get lucky? They said they get new shipments in every day except Sunday. Seems like I'd have a pretty good chance of getting what I want sometime next week.

If you feel like it and have time, call stores to see if they have inventory. If so, after you get it in-store, cancel the online order.

I stood in line to get the grey phone. Someone behind me in line asked when will gold/white become available. Staff member said this was the date he was told by Apple. Maybe online orders are faster? I don't know what to tell you, but "7-10 day estimated shipping time" is exactly that.

Online in Gold Color is definitely delayed to October at least for me it is, and those who were lucky enough to see their orders say 1-3 Business Days still have NOT shipped yet today, and it's looking like their NOT going to ship till Monday at the eariest and keep in mind that most of these people who got the 1-3 Business Days Time Frame ordered about no later than 00:05 A.M. this morning Pacific Time (timeline based on what happened at the U.S.A. Apple Online Store). Go to your local Carrier, they were less crowded at some locations than Apple Stores and they sometimes open up earlier than Apple as well.

What's my play?

I believe if you go to your carrier the likelihood of getting a phone is very high. Despite all the Hype and TV coverage, lines are not as long this year, nor is demand as high based on what I'm seeing here on the forums. Last year there were lots of threads, this year not so much.

Tomorrow is a key day, Apple is restocking both stores and carriers, so if you go in early I believe you'll get what you want. If you go to an Apple store all bets are off since the worshipers think Apple stores are the holy grail, and will stand in line or put up with anything.

If you want a phone tomorrow, go to your carrier.

This morning I walked into my local AT&T store around 9:45 am to pickup one for my wife. I was third in line and out of there with exactly the 5S she wanted, all in less than 30 minutes. Easy as can be.

O.K. so now that the big rush is over, what about next week. Will Apple stores be getting shipments of silver iPhone 5s next week, anyone have any info. I need to buy one more unlocked silver iPhone 5s then I am done.
