I currently live in asia pacific, and i just ordered online the uMBP 15" 2.6ghz 8gb with hi res anti glare option, and with student discount. When i called up apple support earlier, they said no verification is needed BUT i should be using a mac account under my university email server thus myname@myuniversiy.com

Is this similar to me adding my university email to my apple id, being another email apart from my personal email?

Because ive ordered but the status is still processing after an hour. Its 21:40 local time friday atm. Usually how long will the order be processed and that i will receive an email confirming? Ive called apple earlier and they said no matter what time i order, it will be processed.

I'm in the AP region too. I ordered my rMBP shortly after the Hong Kong Apple Store came back up and it took almost 2 days for me to receive the order acknowledgement email. Don't worry about it.

BTW processing is actually the second step of the process. It'll stay there for a few days until the machine is built, and this is when it'll shift to 'preparing for shipment'. Hover your cursor over the little arrow next to the order status for the full breakdown.

No need to use any specific email. I just used a regular Gmail account as my Apple ID which I've used to order several Apple computers with the edu discount for several years now without any issues. I did call them and ask about verification and they said if they needed verification they'd send an email asking for a picture of your student/staff ID, but they don't usually ask for it.
