I got a text about shipment being dispatched.
Does that mean that it just left China or as arrived in the UK?

Whoah.. I'd of thought they'd have a base or something nearby they shipped products out from.

When a product first comes out they usually ship them direct from china to get them available faster. As time goes on they get more stock out to their regional distribution centers and ship closer to where you're ordering from, assuming you don't custom order something totally crazy.

If you want to track your order right now you'll have to use the tracking number Apple sent you in the shipment notification email and visit fedex's website manually. Primitive, I know. 😛

I just bought 2 refurb iMacs and MacBook Airs I need as part of a project, so I'm a tad annoyed I can't track them ether,, but I just went to the fedex website.

...and store is back up after iPad 2 announcement! Thank goodness no iPad 2 orders have to bog down the system till March 11th.
