I ordered the 38mm blue sport around noon on 4/23, and it just arrived! Since I can't set it up until I'm home I'm trying to wait to open the box. Another 3 hours until I can leave work...I may cave.

I ordered on 4/23 around noon, it went to preparing for shipment ~24 hours later, on 4/24, then it arrived today. It was local by Saturday but because of the weekend it didn't deliver until today. So if you're preparing for shipment now you may see it as early as tomorrow or Wednesday? Don't want to get your hopes up though just in case!

Inspired by this thread, I ordered a blue 38mm sport on the 24th as a gift. I needed it pronto.
It originally said it was shipping in June. I held my breath hoping it might change to (much, much) sooner as some lucky people here have experienced.
This morning it changed to shipping in May/early June. (by June 10th). That's too late for me so I cancelled it. Everybody else gets to shuffle up a spot. You're welcome - and good luck!

same here, I ordered a blue 38mm on the evening of the 23rd. Woke up this morning to the adjusted shipping time. So I cancelled it this morning and am playing the waiting game with my 38mm SG. Funny thing is, I got the EOD for this blue 38mm this afternoon after I already cancelled this morning

So even if my order is "preparing for shipment", if I received the EOD with an adjusted ship time "Your Apple Watch Sport is expected to ship within the next 3 to 5 weeks." That means my watch isn't actually going to ship imminently?

Who knows? I got my EOD promising earlier delivery many hours after I'd cancelled my order.
Doesn't make any sense. It's all a complete screw-up, IMHO.
So Apple sent me an email earlier saying that my Watch would ship in 3-5 weeks, and then just now they sent me shipping confirmation and a UPS tracking number. Apparently my watch is in transit from a nearby (next state over) UPS facility? Very strange, but it looks as though I'll have my Green 38mm Sport tomorrow! Hopefully before I go to work. I'd encourage anyone looking for a quick shipping one to do Green.
I ordered a 38mm Sport with green band late Saturday night/early Sunday morning and it's already arriving tomorrow!
Not a blue sport, but SS classic buckle: I ordered 4/26, original date was May-June. This morning (early) it changed to May 18-May 30. By 1pm it was "preparing for shipment" and still said "available to ship 2-3 weeks". I got the so called "email of death" that said it would ship in 2-3 weeks. Just now (6:30pm) it Shipped for delivery tomorrow.
So really I wouldn't put a whole lot of stock into the dates and email-of-death for these models....

I ordered the 38mm Sport with black band on April 10th at 2:05am (I was stupidly downloading the update on my iPhone and the website was still down). Unfortunately, it is still waiting to be fulfilled. I sort of gave up and decided to try to order one with one of the colored bands. When I say, one of the of the colored bands, I mean... all of the colored bands. I ordered them yesterday (Sunday, April 26th) about 3pm. This morning (Monday, April 27th) at 9:36am, my credit card was charged and the 38mm Silver Aluminum Sport with the green band, switched to "Preparing for Shipment." Unfortunately, I am traveling to Seattle tomorrow, but I thought ahead and put the hotel address on the shipping information! This evening (Monday, April 27th) at 5:21pm CST, I got an email that my new watch will be delivered tomorrow. I cancelled all of the other colored band orders, but kept the 38mm Space Gray Sport with black band... just because. I might flip it because it is in such high demand.
Anyway, I am super excited to move from my Fitbit Force to my Apple Watch Sport. I will probably try to trade the band for a black band through Apple (which I read is possible). Good luck everyone!

I'm not quite sure but my assumption is that you'll get yours soon, since it has changed status. I guess we'll see!
Not to be a downer but you won't be able to change a colored band for a black one because the exchange has to create an actual sku. Since there's no black band with silver aluminum, it's not possible.
