I need to have all the connections from USB, Ethernet, etc and be reliable to run 5k monitors or 2-3 4k monitors eventually. Is this possible? I have researched a lot of docks, and I see that OWC isn't getting good reviews on theirs, but there are a few that do. I also need one that has separate MIC and Audio jacks for my headphones to work if and when I do play games (which is rare, like 1 in 6 months). It also needs to charge the laptop. SD Card reader needed too (not a huge requirement as I do have a Sabrent hub). Will have external mouse/keyboard.

Want to get some recommendations on what to grab! Thank you!

A single Thunderbolt 3 dock can only support up to two 4K displays or one 5K display.

CalDigit’s dock sounds like the most suitable. Or Belkin or Elgato’s docks, depending on which ports would be more useful. These all have dual audio input/outputs.

These all will charge your MacBook at full speed (~85W) but not all will so double check. The OWC only supports about 60W for example.

I got lucky and found the Elgato TB3 on Ebay for $180 shipped. So I picked it up! That should do the job hopefully!

Just picked up the Promise Technologies TB3 Dock. It only charges my 15in MBP at 60W but it works flawlessly!

Yeah, my Elgato dock turned out to be a dud. I sent it back, and got the Caldigit TS3, and its great. It definitely charges the laptop at 85W, and have had no issues with it. :)
