Coming up on the 1 year mark of having my 42mm SS watch, I have 4 sport bands (White, Black, Stone, Fog) and decided to get a dressier band. Ordered through Apple the brown leather. I've debated on buying a 3rd party leather band for $60 at Best Buy but I tend to hope Apples band will be a high quality and last. 1-2 week delivery wait, local Apple Store does not even have them in stock. $149 plus tax... Hope it's worth it lol.

Nice! I really want to get the Storm Gray leather loop. I know people complain about the prices Apple charges and I did too last year but after buying a 3rd party link band for $90 off eBay and it breaking 2 months after owning I purchased SBSS watch with official link band and it's absolutely worth every penny. I will never buy after market again.

I'm going to have so save up for this band and I also want the space black Milanese haha but I can wait.

You won't regret it. The brown leather classic buckle is very now though a tad expensive ! I wear my sports one now only when I go running : don't want the sweat to get to the leather.

Cheers !

The leather felt really nice compared to the $60 one at Best Buy. Just wish bands a year later weren't a 1-2 week wait lol

I have the gen 1 black classic buckle and the gen 2 saddle brown and they are quite different but both good. The saddle brown feels like a better quality of leather than the gen 1 black. You will like the quality. It's better leather than my other watches that is for sure.

I have the new gen 3 gray classic coming this week and debating adding the midnight blue as well.

$90 for a third party band? that was your first mistake, at that point might as well get an apple band.

The saddle brown classic buckle seems to use a different grain of leather than the other colors; the leather is much smoother while the other ones seem to have a grainier appearance. It's very soft and after four months with mine, the band develops a nice patina and is still my favorite!

I got the 2nd gen saddle brown classic buckle in Feb. I wish I had waited for the 3rd gen, as I like the ones with stitching much more. Looks much higher quality, to me.

I've considered this band as well, but to me the word 'patina' is just a fancy way of saying 'stained' and I'm not really sure that would work for me.

They have 1st, 2nd and 3rd gens? So the one I just ordered is a 3rd gen?

Mine is out for delivery today, yay!!

I picked up the brown classic buckle back in Sept/Oct (whenever it was announced). It's one I wear almost daily for work. Such a comfortable and good looking band. Hope you enjoy yours when it comes!

I will when I get home tonight, Its out for delivery so I am excited to see it and get the band onto the watch.

Just got it, very smooth feeling, was surprised for a $149 band that it came in the same packaging as the $49 sport band but it's sexy.

They classic buckle bands used to come in the plastic containers that the link and Milanese loop come in. They changed them with the 2nd generation of the classic buckle.
