Ordered for pickup in store...

how long till I get confirmation email saying it's ready to be picked up? I have ordered for pickup before and have gone before receiving the email. They would not let me get it u till I received the email. Would be annoying to wait till later as I would like to go for the opening.

I imagine they won't email you until the store is open. Or is yours already open?
I'm may be in a different time zone than you. I haven't received my email yet.

This is what Apple.com says about in-store pickup...

You’ll receive an email notifying you when your order is ready for pickup. During regular business hours, most items will be available at the Apple Retail Store within an hour.

If your item is not available for immediate pickup, an estimated delivery date will tell you when to expect it. When it’s ready for pickup, we’ll send you an email. If you purchased multiple items, you can wait until all the items are ready for pickup or pick them up as they become available.

This is what Apple.com says about in-store pickup...

My store doesn't open for another 2+ hours. I'm in central time zone.

I was able to get a keyboard also for pickup somehow. It is now listed as unavailable. Really hoping they have the pencil in stock as waiting two weeks is less than ideal. People in the UK and Germany have stated they have pencils in store even though it says unavailable for pickup, so fingers are crossed.

Received mine at 9:10ET. Store opens at 10:00.

Agh! When I went to order in store pickup at a store further from me because the closest would not have it until the 24th for in store pickup. The next closest said they had it today. When my order finished and processed it now says the 24th is when it will be ready. I tried to cancel the order to select ship to me or so I could just go to the store and it wont let me cancel.

So I am trying to chat online with someone and trying to cancel it now. Is anyone else getting the 24th for availability on in store pickup? Really hoping I can cancel this or change to ship to home as I have no intention of going anywhere near a mall that close to Thanksgiving.

DAMN IT! They wont let me cancel it! Does anyone know what happens if you dont pick an item up? They just refund your credit card right?

Yes! Just got my email at 8:41... Now I just need to get going in a few minutes, it's about 40 miles away, so I have to leave early to avoid the lunch hour traffic on my return trip. lol

Shouldn't be an issue. They bring it out. You cancel order. You pay with Apple Pay.
