Ordered iPhone 5S from my carrier - can I swap it for different color @ Apple Store?

Ordered a Silver 5s from my carrier (Telus in Canada) last week. Still no shipping notice but when it arrives via courier could I take it to an Apple Store and swap it for a black one? The box will be sealed of course.

I can't speak specifically about Canada, but here in the U.S. the Apple Store only allows exchanges of colors within the first 30 days of purchase ONLY on purchases from the Apple Store or Apple.com.

Why not get TELUS to exchange it? They probably have access to a lot more black than white units. They'd be able to move the silver one pretty quickly since they've been scarce.

Most likely Apple will only exchange what was purchased at Apple, same as in the US.

You won't be able to swap it at an Apple Store, but I know in the UK the mobile networks all have return periods. Perhaps Telus will let you return it and then take out a new contract with a different coloured device.

No, you can't take inventory purchased from one company and just return it at another. Just like almost any other product.
