CNET confirms single NAND in base M2 MM:

"The base-model Mac Mini with the 256GB SSD also has potentially slower read/write speeds than other configs, similar to the M2 MacBook Air, because of how the storage is either split into two NAND chips, or uses just one."

I will keep you all updated on how it runs.
can you tell what the base os is, once you receive it?

I have a hunch these were being made before Ventura came out, but no proof yet, so if it's getting shipped with a last build of Monterey, I would be ordering one as well.

Can you let us know in this forum, if you receive it today?

Okay. got my 2023 mini today. m2. 256 gb ssd, and 8 gb ram. very very pleased with it. Although the disk was not as fast as my 16 gb M1. Here is the speed test under 10 youtubes open and playing. No slowdown on safari web. Also, the m2 arrived with Ventura 13, and I upgraded it to Ventura 13.2. All in all the m2 works great, but my m1 with 16 gb runs faster.

Boot up on the M2 was 5.95 seconds. As you can see the M2 did not reach my M1 speeds of 3000 mb/s, but still plenty fast. As I mentioned before the M2 was not purchased as a replacement for the M 1. But I think with added external it will be fine.

My recommendation....get 16 gb but a small ssd will work with a large external.

At $499. Educator discount. This was hard to pass up.

I am not a pro user but just an everyday user....so hope this helps someone.
