I really try my best to wait for big updates, for example my Macbook Air from 2013 (still in grade A operating state) was recently given to my son for College. So i got the new macbook pro 2018 model. Apple Watch, I waited until S4 before I upgraded from S0. My S0 Watch STILL running like the day I bought it.

I felt like this iMac was worthy to jump on and I'll let you know what I think after it arrives. I will say this: It was due to be delivered Friday 08/07, but they've already updated it to say it's on schedule to be delivered tomorrow 08/06 ...they definitely improved shipping lately.

Are you upgrading from a prior iMac? If you like to wait for “big” upgrades the next one to Apple Silicon will be significant.

No I bought this to offload the work of my 2018 Macbook Pro. And so far I'm loving it...

Equally I'm very upset... this i5 outperforms the i9 on macbook Pro... like even by naked eye...does the i9 on the 2018 Pro suck in general?

I am doing exactly same. went with i7 base model iMac 2020. But will give up(on Craigslist or trade) for iPhone 12 (Aka 5g) model.

I personally think ARM is good with MacBook/laptop models; while. Imac/Mac Pro good is good for Desktop/Home Usage. At least next 3 years it will be true, until we figure out how good ARM chip is going to be
