I live In Thailand, I ordered a MBP 15" 2.2 with 512 GB a few days ago from Thailand apple store, confident I will have 14 days to return it in case there are some issues with it.

but scrolling just now at the apple Thailand site I notice on the refund policy that sense I used a USA credit card my purchase is not eligible for a refund (If I understand what I read correctly - see attach file)

they write:

"However, please note that we will only remit refunds to a Thailand bank account where the name of the bank account holder matches the payor’s name/information. Please also note that we only remit refunds domestically and cannot remit refunds outside of Thailand."

that got me a bit worry as I was sure I could run all possible tests on this unit to make sure it doesn't have all the many issues that are being reported here. so in this case I will be stuck with it no matter what.

my order is still at "order at progress" stage which I believe means I could still cancel it, which I consider to do.

any thoughts will be greatly appreciated

I'd say that if you think there's a chance you might return it and just keep what you have, then you probably ought to cancel the order -- or change the payment to a Thai based payment method.

Are the rules regarding exchanges different, or are you also limited there?

I am not sure exchange can happen since there are no physical stores, you can only order online but I will inquire about it some more

Get in touch with them, but I believe that if you bought it on a credit card they would simply cancel the charge.

right? that's what I thought too but this line bothers me: "Please also note that we only remit refunds domestically and cannot remit refunds outside of Thailand."

I will call them first thing in the morning here

ok so an update and also for future sake if someone will google this issue:

Apple Thailand confirm there is no problem getting a refund on a foreign credit card purchase.
so that's good news :)
