Ordering Studio Display now to get new one

I am wondering if there is any experience on ordering a product before the potential release of new one.

Studio Display delivery times are mid march, which seams to indicate new model release.

So I am wondering; if I order I could potentially:

- get new model earlier
- lock current price

If any of this assumptions are wrong I can always return and order new model or decide to wait longer for the new one.

Ordering one now would not lock in a cheaper price for the new one if it costs more. They would either send you the display you purchased or cancel your order if they don’t have the stock.

It doesn’t work like that.

You’d wind up either getting your order canceled if the current ASD is discontinued, or more likely, they’d still ship you the old ASD at the old $1599 price, and you’d pay more than simply waiting to buy a discontinued model at blowout prices.

I just hope they release the Studio Display on the 4th. Lots of the talking heads are NOT including it among the items being released at that time. I'm waiting for one too
