Organized/categorized apps. How to not lose w/update

In the past, everytime I would do a software update or restore from backup, my apps wouldn't be grouped and it would take hours organizing them. Is there anyway to prevent this problem?
 
It gets on my nerves..!! The night b4 ios 5 had been released i organized all my apps.. And then updated.. Now its all messed now..
